Varsity Boys Basketball Win TAPPS 4A State Championship
On Saturday, February 29, the varsity boys basketball team competed against Colleyville Covenant in a 68-50 victory, claiming the second state championship in the last three years. After coming so close to the title last year, TWCA was the No. 1 team all year and found redemption at the state championship game. Senior Bakari LaStrap said, “There’s a lot of emotion, and we have seven seniors with a lot of maturity. It’s just love. I just really can’t explain it.”
According to Coach Tanner Field, “This is a team where I don’t have to worry about grades, and I don’t have to worry about things off the floor. We just have a great culture, and they buy in to what we want to do and support each other.” Congratulations, Warriors! We are so proud of you and your hard work!
