Surround by family, friends and their fellow Warrior classmates, six TWCA senior athletes were honored on Thursday, November 10th as they took the next step in their athletic careers.

Wyatt Boeker (Basketball, Air Force Academy), Katie Holloway (Volleyball, Mary Hardin Baylor), Jake Maggert (Golf, Texas A&M), Sam McClure (Golf, Southwestern), Aaron Pounds (Golf, Texas A&M) and Jack Usner (Golf, Texas A&M) each signed their letter of intent to play collegiate athletics at the schools mentioned above.

Sports Information Director and Head Boys Basketball Coach Tanner Field spoke about each athlete and the contributions they have made to the TWCA community, both on and off the field of play.

Wyatt Boeker - Basketball - Air Force Academy

Wyatt is a three-year letterman for the Warrior Basketball team this year. He is signing today to play basketball for the United States Air Force Academy. Wyatt is not just a great basketball player but embodies everything the basketball culture stands for. He strives to put his teammates above himself on and off the court and his hard work in the classroom earned him this prestigious opportunity at the Air Force Academy. Wyatt will be missed at TWCA and we are excited to see how God will work in his life.

Katie Holloway - Volleyball - Mary Hardin Baylor University

Katelynn is a two-year letterman for the Warrior Volleyball team. She is signing today to play for the University of Mary Harden Baylor. Coach Parker said, "Katelynn is a fierce competitor with a ton of talent! She brings a contagious energy to the court, with a team first mentality! University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is lucky to get not only a great player, but an even better person."

Jake Maggert - Golf - Texas A&M University

Jake is a four-year letterman for the Warrior golf team. He is signing today to play golf at Texas A&M University. Coach McNeese said, "Jake’s consistency and high personal expectations have yielded an extremely successful career that continues to flourish. I am proud that he has earned the chance to play at the next level, and he deserves to be a part of the historic trio heading to Texas A&M next year."

Sam McClure - Golf - Southwestern University

Sam is a four-year letterman for the Warrior golf team. He is signing today to play golf at Southwestern University in Georgetown. Coach McNeese said, “Sam’s journey may be the most unexpected of all as he has had to battle all the struggles that the game of golf can bring from time to time. Last year other coaches would comment on his physical growth and maturity along with his great personality as they watched him interact with other players during a round. Sam will be an excellent addition at Southwestern, and I am so proud of his decision to continue playing golf competitively next year.”

Aaron Pounds - Golf - Texas A&M University

Aaron is a four-year letterman for the Warrior golf team. He is signing today to play golf at Texas A&M University. Coach McNeese said, “Without a doubt, Aaron is one of the most physically gifted athletes that I have had the chance to coach. Still, one of his greatest attributes is his humility and strength under pressure to stay calm and cool regardless of whether or not he’s playing well during a round. He is a great teammate who shares in the joys of others while often downplaying his own accomplishments and looking to make his teammates better. Texas A&M is getting a great one in Aaron Pounds.”

Jack Usner - Golf - Texas A&M University

Jack is a four-year letterman for the Warrior golf team. He is signing today to play golf at Texas A&M University. Coach McNeese said, “From the first chance that I had to watch Jack practice during his freshman year to today, Jack’s golf journey has certainly had its ups and downs, but he has never let those highs or lows keep him from continuing to work hard and improve. Jack’s hard work and physical giftedness have earned him the privilege to play at the next level, and I cannot wait to see his continual development at Texas A&M.”
