Technology Pilot Program Launched in Fourth Grade

Fourth grade launched a pilot program that takes us one step further into the digital and media literacy age. After another amazing training at Columbia University’s Teacher’s College, some training with our regional Apple Educator, and the generous provision of the technology team, teachers have been empowered to take their strong foundation in technology integration to the next level. Teachers and students were each issued a brand-new iPad Pro device and a LogiTech Crayon to complete lessons in every content area. They can now fully utilize the digital tools that come with our adopted textbooks and learning programs. They have also implemented two powerful new apps by Apple—Classroom, SchoolWork and Notability, which allow teachers to push assignments to iPads, manage devices remotely, collaborate in real time with students, collect data, and track student progress. Students and teachers alike are loving the highly stimulating 21st century classroom. In Mrs. Johnson's classroom, "Students use the digital notebook to record audio notes, delete text, highlight, and write directly on the iPad. It's the coolest thing ever. The students love using the new tech. Teachers love using it too."
