Standing Ovation for Night at the Opera: Auction & Gala Raises $2.7M for New Fine Arts Building

The annual Auction & Gala was held on Saturday, April 29, 2023, with presenting sponsor Foster Fence and Capstone Society sponsors Marabou Midstream Services and Team Reed Enterprises, Inc. The event, "A Night at the Opera," was chaired by Amy and Tony Torres and raised an astounding $2.7 million dollars.

The funds raised from the event will go toward building a new Fine Arts Educational Building and Outdoor Amphitheater, which will benefit our students for years to come.

Justine Reed, representing Capstone Society sponsor Team Reed Enterprises, Inc., shared her appreciation for the opportunity to contribute to the school, "Being a part of The Woodlands Christian Academy has been such a blessing to our children and family. We are honored to be able to give back to our community and school. TWCA is a huge part of our lives and to be able to contribute in a meaningful way has brought us such happiness and we are thankful for the opportunity to do so! Thank you so much to TWCA, the volunteers, and everyone who contributed to a really great and successful event!"

The Auction & Gala was attended by approximately 530 guests, including parents, faculty, staff, and community members. The evening included bid boards, a live auction, Fund-A Need, and entertainment provided by Pete’s Dueling Pianos.

“A Night at the Opera was a truly elegant affair," said Head of School, Mrs. Ambler. "I am so grateful for the strong financial support from our school community, and I cannot wait to see our students flourishing in this inspirational and creative learning center!”

At TWCA, we sees Fine Arts as a vital component of our mission in developing well-rounded students. We encourage students to use their gifts and creativity to worship God. With the Fine Arts department experiencing remarkable growth in the past year, we are hoping to close the gap in funding so that we can begin construction of the Fine Arts Educational Building and Outdoor Amphitheater this summer.
