Seniors Worship at Passion Conference

Twelve seniors, along with Coach Earle and Ms. Mitchell, traveled to Ft. Worth for an incredible fellowship experience. The Passion conference took place on December 28-30, 2022, with approximately 13,000 students in attendance. Designed to ignite the faith of college students and high school seniors, Passion is a movement to get students living for God.

This marks the seventh year Coach Earle has taken a group of seniors to Passion, to inspire students about what college ministry could look like, and to remind them they aren’t alone in their faith. Students got to meet up with 11 TWCA alumni who were also attending the conference.

Everyone was blown away by the knock-out speakers, including Louie Giglio, Ben Stuart, Sadie Robertson Huff – to name a few. The worship experience was moving, with Kari Jobi, Crowder, Passion Music and more. It was a great way to end the year and kickoff 2023! Read more to see what some of our seniors had to say about Passion.

What made you want to go to Passion?

For years, I had heard about this huge Christian conference that changes so many lives. I have always dreamed about going but never had the opportunity to go. As a teen girl, I follow Sadie Robertson Huff and have seen her Instagram posts about how life-changing this conference was. When Coach Earle sent out the email about the Seniors going, I had to jump on it because I knew the impact it would have on my life.

What was the highlight or your favorite part of the conference?

There were so many highlights that it would take forever to type. Every moment in and out of the arena those three days was absolutely life-changing. The worship was such an incredible thing to experience, the music and the overall vibes were just amazing - it could give anyone chills. Everyone was raising their hands and singing their hearts out for Jesus without any judgment. Of course, seeing Sadie talk was one moment I will never forget. Her message was AMAZING and hearing her speak the word was moving.

What was your biggest takeaway?

One of my biggest takeaways was that God wants to be in all of our lives, not just the spiritual part. Many of us tend to close God out of a personal area in our lives, but as God’s children, we need to let Him in on all aspects. With an open heart and open mind, God can do so many incredible and wonderful things if we all just let Him in to every part of us.

Would you recommend it to anyone who is considering going in the future? What would you say to them?

I would totally recommend this to anyone who is considering going. Personally, this conference was so life-changing and I will never forget those 3 days. It is such an amazing opportunity to grow in your faith and get to know Jesus even more. I would tell others to not miss this once in a lifetime experience and opportunity. You will most definitely not regret going. Everything about the conference was amazing, from the atmosphere to the people I went with. Passion was an incredible opportunity and everyone should try to go at least once in their life.

What made you want to go to Passion?

I wanted to go to Passion because my sister has gone the past few years and told me how much she learned and how awesome it is.

Was there anything about Passion that was unexpected?

One of the speakers at Passion recited Romans 1-8 from memory which was mind-blowing and impactful. His message was about how important the word is in itself. You can listen to music and watch amazing speakers, and have all the smoke machines, but it’s the word that has meaning. It made me realize how much I need to go into the word myself. I need to know more of the Bible so that I can have it in my arsenal to use at different times.

What was your biggest takeaway?

My biggest takeaway was that I need to spend more time with God, worshipping Him and reading His word. I realized how much more invested in God I could be and how that could greatly impact my life for the better. I need to give more praise to God in everything. Keep God at the center of my life in every situation. Again, read my Bible more, really focusing on the word.

Would you recommend it to anyone who is considering going in the future? What would you say to them?

I would absolutely recommend Passion! It was a great experience that I will always remember. I will also be attending next year in Atlanta. I would tell people about how my relationship with God grew and how I met many new awesome people. Overall, it was just an amazing experience.
