The school year might be one week in, but the Warrior Volleyball team is not.

The Warriors have already played 15 games and have an impressive starting record of 12-2-1.

Tuesday night, the team took on the Village School and came out on top with a 3-1 victory (25-21, 24-26, 25-21, 25-23) in front of a packed and energetic crowd.

The two teams split the first two sets before the Warriors took control of the match and finished strong by winning the last two sets. One of the main factors in the Warriors’ win was the team’s ability to block, according to senior setter Katie Wise.

“The team has played well, and I am seeing a lot of positive feedback from them,” head coach Kori Parker said as TWCA heads into district play.

The Warriors open district play on the Tuesday after Labor Day, September 6th, against Fort Bend Christian Academy.

The biggest impact on the team so far this season has been the “eight seniors this year, and the leadership they have brought,”  Parker said.

The team had good off-ball control and offense on Tuesday night, and she expects that to continue through the season.

Up next for the Warriors is a home game against Bay Area Christian on Thursday, August 25th at 6:30 p.m. in the Daniel Student Life Center gym.

If Tuesday’s game was any indication, the Warrior Student Section will be ready to pack the house again to cheer on their fellow Warriors.
