This year, we have a few new faces in lower school. Please join us in welcoming the newest members of our lower school faculty and staff!

Mrs. Lori Kobler, LS Administrative Assistant

What did you do before coming here?  I was Preschool Ministry Director at Spring Baptist Church for the last eight years.

How long have you taught?  I taught 2nd and 3rd grade in SISD for seven years in the early 2000s before having children and then entering church ministry.

What do you look forward to most about this school year?  I love to serve people and build relationships, so I’m looking forward to how God can use me to support the LS faculty and students. 

What attracted you to TWCA?  I was excited to reenter the field of education in a new role at a school where Christ is the center and focus. (Not to mention my dearest friend, Mrs. Chapman, is a HS school teacher here and sings the praises of TWCA!)

What do you like about TWCA so far?  I have been warmly welcomed and helped by so many faculty and staff already as I’m learning and adjusting.    

What do you like to do for fun? My daughters and I love to road-trip and explore new places. 

Tell us something interesting about you/fun fact - I’m a Baylor alumnus and bleed green and gold.  In fact, my favorite season of the year is “college football.” 

 

Mrs. Kathryn Gates, Pre-K Team Teacher

How long have you taught? I have been an educator for approximately 20 yrs.

What do you look forward to most about this school year? As a “newbie” at TWCA, I look forward to developing & deepening relationships with TWCA students & staff. 

What attracted you to TWCA? I was attracted to TWCA because of its Mission Statement and Christ-centered environment. 

What do you like about TWCA so far? So far I have been WOWed by my amazing, talented team and the love they have for their students. 

What do you like to do for fun? I love to go biking, camping and hiking. I also love gardening. 

Tell us something interesting about you/fun fact -  I’m a Vespa-girl…but I also enjoy riding on the back of my husband’s motorcycle.

 

Mrs. Madison Freas, Pre-K Teacher

What did you do before coming here? Before I taught here, I taught Kindergarten 😊.

How long have you taught? This is my 2nd year of teaching.

What do you look forward to most about this school year? I look forward to developing lasting relationships with students, parents and staff members.

What attracted you to TWCA? The beautiful campus and staff members that exemplified Christ attracted me to TWCA.

What do you like about TWCA so far? I love the atmosphere on campus. Everyone has been so welcoming!

What do you like to do for fun? I like to go hiking and camping with family and friends.

Tell us something interesting about you/fun fact - I once threw out the first pitch at a Texas Rangers game. 

 

Mrs. Melissa Beam, 1st Grade Reading Teacher

What did you do before coming here? I taught 3rd grade language arts in CISD.

How long have you taught? 12 years.

What do you look forward to most about this school year? Friendships, Christian fellowship and teaching my first graders life lessons with the help of Jesus!

What attracted you to TWCA? The reputation of TWCA, the faculty, campus and curriculum rooted in Christ.

What do you like about TWCA so far? The friendly, welcoming smiles I see all day!  AND… the patience my sweet co-workers have towards me!

 

Ms. Kelly McClendon, 4th Grade Team Teacher

What did you do before coming here? Taught one year olds at a Christian School in Fort Worth, TX.

How long have you taught? 10 years.

What do you look forward to most about this school year? Getting to know the students and faculty at TWCA.

What attracted you to TWCA? The importance of teaching curriculum and also the chance to combine spiritual beliefs.

What do you like about TWCA so far? I love the faculty, the students and the campus.

What do you like to do for fun? I love to travel and read for fun.

Tell us something interesting about you/fun fact - I’m bilingual in Spanish.
