G.I.R.L.S. Science Club Apply Physics and STEM Concepts at iFly
Third and fourth graders in the G.I.R.L.S Science Club (Girls Investigating Real Life Science) went on a field trip to iFly for a hands-on learning experience. Students participated in a physics and STEM lab on parachutes and flew in the wind tunnel.
Mrs. Lacy Goedeke, who leads the group, combines classroom concepts and fun to foster the girls’ love of learning. She said, “This is a wonderful group of 15 girls who love science and God. The girls were so excited throughout the field trip and were able to overcome fears about flying through godly grit.”
Not only does the club encourage girls to explore science, but it also combines the counter-cultural pairing of God and science. G.I.R.L.S. aims to grow students closer to one another in faith, fellowship and science.
