It is a year-end tradition at Woodlands Christian for the Head of School to discern and announce a spiritual theme for the upcoming school year. The hope is to perceive a theme that will guide our school, faculty and students to grow more like Jesus "in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man". (Luke 2:52) Throughout the year, we reinforce these themes at chapel, in the classrooms, on the playing fields and in staff devotions.

Our theme this year has been Faith. We have challenged our students to grow in faith by closely reading the scriptures, trusting the character of God and believing His promises. As we learned in Hebrews 11:1- Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

Our theme for 2018 – 2019 is Heritage, and we will acknowledge heritage in many different ways. We will celebrate the 25-year anniversary of The Woodlands Christian Academy and give thanks for the many blessings at our school. We will honor our families and the lineage that gave us life. We will recognize those individuals who prayed for us and led us to Christ. We will rejoice in the God who loved us enough to give us His Word and His only Son to save us from our sins. We will culminate the year with an optional trip for families to join me on a tour of Israel, the birthplace of our spiritual heritage, from May 29 – June 7, 2019. (More details will be shared in the fall, but you may contact Nancy Sievert at nsievert@twca.net with any questions beforehand.)

Our primary focus will be on building personal character, and the heritage we choose to leave for others. Thus, our scripture verse follows –

The Lord knows the days of the upright and blameless, and their heritage will abide forever.

Psalm 37:18 AMPC

Please join us in prayer as we ask the Holy Spirit to inspire our students to leave a personal legacy of Christian heritage at their school, in their communities and in future generations.

Serving Him,

Julie H. Ambler
