Our first annual 9th-grade retreat was a huge success! The group visited Carolina Creek in Huntsville, TX for a special opportunity to connect with God, their peers and teachers.
The retreat started on campus, Sunday afternoon with Mr. Marez leading a panel discussion composed of four seniors. They shared about their personal experiences and gave advice on making intentional choices over the next four years in high school.
While at the retreat, students broke into teams and competed in TWCA Trivia that tested their knowledge of school history, student club information, high school staff names and more. On Sunday evening, Mrs. Henson and her husband led an outdoor worship service overlooking the lake. The evening ended with an activity that challenged students to look beyond their friend group and step out of their “box” to see all they share as image bearers of God.
Freshmen worked together to bring the Warrior Way to life by creating their own versions of this important theme. They reflected on each line and developed a list of personal action items.
Warrior Way
A Warrior…
Honors God,
Fights for Truth,
Leads by example,
Serves others,
Walks humbly.
WE ARE WARRIORS!
After a fun-filled weekend of marshmallow roasting, worshipping, speed-friending, and more, the freshman class came back closer than ever, united by their identity as image bearers of Christ and ready to walk in the Warrior Way. We look forward to the many ways these young men and women will grow over the next four years at TWCA.
