Fifth Grade Students Share Their Personal Testimonies
Fifth grade students shared their personal testimonies in Bible class. Using Padlet, students recorded themselves and then uploaded their videos for classmates and teachers to view and comment. The objective was for students to practice sharing how the gospel is at work in their own lives. They each answered five questions about the gospel’s impact on their life:
- When did you first hear the gospel and realize it was talking about you?
- Who was there?
- Who did you tell?
- Have you been baptized?
- What about your life is different now since hearing the gospel?
Students responded well to the assignment, with many sharing insightful truths. One student remarked, “My life is different now because I feel like everything makes sense - because if Jesus came to earth and died for us, then it makes more sense that God would forgive us. And, Jesus never sinned because he was the son of God.” Another students said, “My life is different now because I have the urge to show other people about God’s love, and I want to tell other people about the gospel so they can know more about God.”
Many students said they first heard the gospel and realized it was talking about them while at church, camp, or at school during chapel or class. At Woodlands Christian, everything is taught through a Christian worldview and Bible is considered to be one of the core subjects. It is amazing to see how at such a young age, our Warriors are able to eloquently verbalize their testimony - a skill they will be able to use for the rest of their lives for Kingdom purposes.
