Cross Country Team Receives Woodlands Township Proclamation

The Woodlands Township presented a proclamation declaring Jan 15, 2020 as Woodlands Christian Cross Country Champions Day. The proclamation reads:

Whereas, The Woodlands Christian Academy continues to excel in athletics, with the girls’ cross country team’s fifth time winning the 2019 TAPPS 4A State Championship; and

Whereas, the girls’ cross country team beat the second place school, Northland Christian of Houston, by 93 points; and

Whereas, three runners placed in the top 10 finishers of the State Championship race earn ing First Team All-State honors; and

Whereas, two runners, Ellie Catron and Fern Shirley, were honored as Academic All-State by finishing in the top 15 and having a cumulative GPA over 90; and

Whereas, the boys’ cross country team won the 2019 TAPPS 4A State Championship for the third consecutive year; and

Whereas, the boys’ cross country team beat the second place school, Cristo Rey of Dallas, by 24 points; and

Whereas, three runners placed in the top10 finishers of the State Championship race earning First Team All-State honors, included Ben Shearer—1st place—overall state champion, Josh Mueck—3rd place, and Caleb Bigler—8th place; and

Whereas, two runners, Josh Mueck and Caleb Bigler, were honored as Academic All -State by finishing in the top 15 and having a cumulative GPA over 90; and

 

Now, therefore, I, Gordy Bunch, as Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Woodlands Township, do hereby proclaim January 15, 2020, as:

 

The Woodlands Christian Academy Cross Country Team State Champions Day
