Auction & Gala Proceeds Gross Over $2 Million Dollars
A NOTE FROM MRS. AMBLER -
The Silver Ball, held last Saturday at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott, was a spectacular affair! I am deeply grateful to Alison and Vern Veldekens, our event chairs; Woodlforest Bank, our presenting sponsor; Richie’s Pharmacy, our Capstone Society founding member; our auction and gala committee; and our fabulous sponsors, volunteers and supporters.
Preliminary estimates suggest we grossed approximately $2,080,000. Thanks to such tremendous generosity, we are able to completely furnish the first two floors of our new high school building, including the auditorium, science labs, classrooms, conference rooms, offices, coffee bar and student gathering areas. We are also able to construct seven classrooms on the third floor for robotics, engineering, computer science and math in addition to a gallery area. We hope to add the proposed 3rd floor art studio and STEM lab in the near future.
Consistent with our school’s tradition of naming buildings for Biblical heroes. I was pleased to share at the gala the name given to our new high school building by the Chappelle and McClure families. The Micah Academic Center will offer the facilities and the programs to challenge our students to become Mighty Warriors for Christ - spiritually, academically, physically and socially. But most importantly, we pray it will inspire generations of graduates to pursue lives with the words of Micah 6:8 planted on their hearts -
“And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
I give thanks to God for all the blessings He has bestowed upon Woodlands Christian, not just monetarily, but also through the generous hearts and hands of every person who took part in this year’s gala. We are humbled by your support and honored to serve your family as we partner together to equip young leaders to reach their God-given potential and to stand strong in their faith.
In Him,
Julie H. Ambler
