This has been an amazing year at The Woodlands Christian Academy!  What a joy it has been to see our students thrive – spiritually, academically, physically and socially – under the inspiration and mentoring of our talented faculty and coaches.  We are so grateful to you for sharing your precious children with us.

This will be a busy summer here on campus.  The Micah Academic Center will be complete by the middle of July.   We will be installing auditorium seating, equipment and new furniture during the last half of July in preparation for the return of our faculty in early August.  Simultaneously, our high school faculty will move into the Micah Academic Center; our 7thand 8thgrade faculty will relocate into the Nehemiah Academic Center; 5thand 6thgrade will continue to occupy some classrooms in the Joshua Academic Center, but most will utilize nearby portables.  Many of our Fine Arts classrooms (band, choir, music, piano) will be located in the portables on the southeast corner of campus.  We will be doing minor construction to move our lower and middle school principals into their respective buildings and bringing our technology and marketing departments into the Timothy Building.  We will also be renovating parts of the Daniel Student Life Building and the Joseph Building to create a larger weight room.  Overall, we are moving 73 people 85 times in two months!

As I outlined in the May 9 newsletter, our spiritual theme for 2019 – 2020 will be Godly Grit, and our scripture verse is James 1:2-4 -

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

To help us unpack this theme, we have invited Dr. Wendy Mogel, author of The Blessing of a Skinned Knee and The Blessing of a B Minus, to address our families on Monday evening, August 5, and our faculty on August 6.  Dr. Mogel is a dynamic speaker who will challenge us all to better equip our warriors for their future.  You will not want to miss this opportunity!

As we conclude this school year and prepare for the next, please join us in prayer as we ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen our students so they may stand strong for Christ, knowing that He loves them (John 3:16), He has a plan and a purpose for their lives (Jeremiah 29:11), and He will reward their faith (Luke 21:19).

I wish each and every one of you a summer full of blessings.

Serving Him,

Julie H. Ambler, Head of School
