10th Grade World History Students Become City Planners

Ms. Shilling introduced her World History classes to the concept of City Planning through a hands-on, classroom activity. They created an agricultural village in England from the 1700s and learned about the economic, social, and cultural impacts of the Industrial Revolution. Without knowing what was coming next, the city planners had to make quick decisions to accommodate the rapid changes that transformed the agrarian village to an industrialized city.
