Faith Formation at TWCA

Anchored in the Pursuit of God, we nurture students to know, love, and follow Christ from Pre-K through graduation.

There are moments in your child’s life that will expand their knowledge, and moments that will shape who they are becoming. Many of those experiences happen in school, especially when academic learning and spiritual growth are intentionally connected.

At The Woodlands Christian Academy, this vision comes to life each day. In classrooms across campus, Scripture is read, prayers are shared, and students are invited to see the world through the lens of God’s truth. Parents often wonder how faith is truly formed here:

  • Will my child be surrounded by mentors who model Christ?
  • Will they be guided to wrestle with big questions in a safe, supportive community?
  • Will they be prepared to serve and lead wherever God calls them?

Our answer is yes — because at TWCA, the Pursuit of God shapes every lesson, every activity, and every relationship from Pre-K through graduation.

Biblical Integration

At Woodlands Christian, academic excellence and God’s truth are inseparable. Every class is taught through the lens of a Biblical worldview, helping students see God’s hand in every part of life and learning. From learning to read in Lower School to tackling complex ideas in Upper School, Biblical integration weaves faith into every experience, guiding students in the Pursuit of God.

Jesus said, 'Come, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men’ (Matthew 4:19). In Lower School, we invite students to come to Him. In Middle School, we guide them to follow Him as growing disciples. By Upper School, they are equipped to live out their faith, sharing the Gospel and serving others in His name.

Lower School: Rooted in Truth

From the very start, students are surrounded by God’s Word in both what they learn and how they learn it. Each day begins with worship, prayer, and teacher-led devotions that connect faith to the day’s lessons.

  • Biblical truth and the story of Scripture are displayed in every classroom.
  • Students memorize Scripture and apply it to daily life.
  • Lessons across all subjects intentionally point to God’s design.

Middle School: Building a Biblical Worldview

In these formative years, faith is woven into every subject, helping students see the connections between God’s truth and the world around them. Teachers and mentors guide them to take greater ownership of their faith.

  • Every class begins with prayer.
  • House chaplains lead bi-weekly devotionals.
  • Academic subjects are intentionally connected to a Biblical worldview.

Upper School: Equipping for Life

As students prepare for life beyond TWCA, they are encouraged to wrestle with big questions, think critically, and apply Biblical principles in all areas of study and life.

  • Christian Development classes and chapel small groups invite deep discussion.
  • Biblical worldview curriculum challenges students to live out their beliefs.
  • Teachers model faith and integrate it across all subjects.

Beyond the Classroom

Faith formation at TWCA continues well beyond the classroom. Through athletics, the arts, service, and leadership, students develop their God-given gifts and learn to live out Christ-centered values in every setting.

Athletics: Competing with Character

In Warrior athletics, training the body and shaping the heart go hand in hand. Coaches lead with Biblical principles, opening practices with prayer, guiding athletes through weekly virtue themes, and encouraging them to see competition through the lens of humility and discipline.

Athletics become a setting where lessons about perseverance and teamwork are tied to Scripture. Whether in PE or varsity competition, students learn that athletic ability is a gift to be stewarded well, not for personal glory, but as a way to honor the Lord and support their team.

Arts: Glorifying God Through Creativity

TWCA’s arts program encourages students to see creativity as an expression of their Creator. From the first note in choir to the final brushstroke in the art studio, instruction blends technical skill with spiritual insight, helping students understand that their work can point others toward Christ.

Performances, exhibitions, and worship opportunities give students real moments to share their gifts with the community. In every medium: music, theater, visual art, or digital media, they are challenged to pursue excellence with the purpose of reflecting God’s beauty and truth.

Service: Living Out One’s Faith

Service at Woodlands Christian flows naturally from the Biblical truth that we are called to love our neighbor. Students engage in projects and partnerships that meet genuine needs, with the understanding that service is not an occasional act but a regular practice of obedience and compassion.

Whether working alongside local organizations or supporting global initiatives, these experiences help students connect their classroom learning to the needs of the world. Service becomes a way for them to see God’s heart for people and take part in His work.

Leadership: Influencing with Integrity

Leadership at TWCA grows out of the belief that influence is best used to build others up. Students are taught to lead with both conviction and humility, understanding that leadership begins with serving well.

Through opportunities in student government, clubs, athletics, and the arts, they learn how to guide, encourage, and make decisions that reflect Biblical wisdom. In every role, they are reminded that leadership is not about position, but about faithfully using their gifts for the good of others and the glory of God.

Hear from TWCA Families

The heart of TWCA is best understood through the voices of our families. Their experiences reflect a shared journey of faith and learning, where school and home partner together to nurture students in the Pursuit of God.

“There are no words to describe the difference TWCA has made in the life of our girls! The Biblical knowledge that they have had since kindergarten, their love for Jesus, and the God honoring friendships they have made are the most priceless gifts we have received from the school. Our girls are extremely confident due to the nurturing environment at TWCA.”
