High School Musical On Stage!

Welcome to TWCA’s production of Disney’s High School Musical. I am so glad that you have decided to join us and celebrate the work that has been done by our students and directors. Anytime a group of people come together to work on a project, I am amazed by what can be accomplished. Each person plays a vital role in the success of a production encompassing different elements needed to make a complete show."But God has carefully designed each member and placed it in the body to function as he desires.  A diversity is required, for if the body consisted of one single part, there wouldn’t be a body at all!  So now we see that there are many differing parts and functions, but one body.” Tonight, you will see this in action as our students come together and use their many talents to present the show. It is a real reminder “That We’re All In this Together.”  -   First Corinthians 12:18-20

Sit back, relax and enjoy the show!

TWCA middle and high school students performing in the Fine Arts production High School Musical

It's the first day after winter break at East High. The Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians and Skater Dudes find their cliques, recount their vacations and look forward to the new year. Basketball team captain and resident jock, Troy, discovers that the brainy Gabriella, a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip, has just enrolled at East High. They cause an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical that is being led by Ms. Darbus. Although many students resent the threat posed to the "status quo," Troy and Gabriella's alliance might just open the door for others to shine as well.

The verse that comes to mind when it comes to the show is Romans 12:2 “ Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will.”  In High School Musical we see how destructive cliques can be to a community, and how it is important that believers do not follow the patterns of this world, but of His Kingdoms. That we do not just love people like us, but we love one another as Christ loves us.

From the cast, Directors, and crew, we are so excited that you have decided to venture down the halls of East High with us this evening. We hope you enjoy the show!

What to Do in the Theater

A live performance is a unique experience shared between performers and the audience. Unlike television or movies, the actors on stage can hear noise from the audience. So, as a courtesy to the performers and the others around you, please review the following information with your class and chaperones before attending a performance.

  • Do not bring any food, drink, candy or gum with you into the theatre.
  • Walk in the theatre and use the railings as you are using the stairs.
  • Once you are in your seat, you may talk quietly until the performance begins.
  • Keep your feet off the seats and do not step over seat backs.
  • Photography, video recording and audio recording are not allowed in the theater
  • When the lights dim for the performance to begin, stop talking, turn your attention to the stage and enjoy the show.
  • Stay in your seat during the performance.
  • During the performance listen and watch closely. A live performance is not a video that you can rewind if you miss something.
  • At the end of the performance, thank the performers by applauding. In return, they will thank you with a bow as you applaud.
  • As you exit the theatre, remember to walk and stay with your group.
