Footloose
Welcome Warrior Nation,
On behalf of The Woodlands Christian Academy, thank you for joining us this evening for this electrifying night of music, dance and heartwarming storytelling as The Woodlands Christian Academy proudly presents the musical sensation, Footloose! We are thrilled to have you join us for an unforgettable journey filled with rhythm, spirit, and celebration of the human spirit.
We are told in the book of Ecclesiastes 3 that there is a time for everything: “A time to weep and a time to laugh; A time to mourn and a time to dance!” Regardless of where your journey has brought you, rest assured that God has ordained your path for this very time.
Prepare to be transported into a world where the joy of music knows no bounds and where the power of dance becomes a symbol of unity and liberation. As we embark on this musical adventure, let the infectious beats, soul-stirring melodies, and dynamic performances carry you away.
Tonight, we celebrate the work of our talented students, dedicated faculty, and everyone who has contributed to the creation of this wonderful production. The many hours and days have truly made Footloose a show to remember.
So, sit back, relax and get ready to cut loose. Thank you for being a part of this toe-tapping evening with us.
Enjoy the Show,
Phil Sweger
Fine Arts Director
Based on the 1984 hit film, Footloose tells the story of Ren McCormack, a teenage boy from Chicago who must move to Bomont with his mother. Upon arriving, Ren finds himself at odds with most of the town, including the Reverend Moore. The Reverend has outlawed dancing and Ren can’t believe this. With the help of the Ariel Moore (the Reverend’s daughter) and Willard Hewitt (a country hick who becomes his best friend), Ren convinces the Reverend to let the teenagers dance, and in the process helps the town to heal from a tragedy that affected them all.
From the Directors, Cast, and Crew we invite you to kick off your shoes and enjoy the show!

What to Do in the Theater
A live performance is a unique experience shared between performers and the audience. Unlike television or movies, the actors on stage can hear noise from the audience. So, as a courtesy to the performers and the others around you, please review the following information with your class and chaperones before attending a performance.
- Do not bring any food, drink, candy or gum with you into the theatre.
- Walk in the theatre and use the railings as you are using the stairs.
- Once you are in your seat, you may talk quietly until the performance begins.
- Keep your feet off the seats and do not step over seat backs.
- Photography, video recording and audio recording are not allowed in the theater
- When the lights dim for the performance to begin, stop talking, turn your attention to the stage and enjoy the show.
- Stay in your seat during the performance.
- During the performance listen and watch closely. A live performance is not a video that you can rewind if you miss something.
- At the end of the performance, thank the performers by applauding. In return, they will thank you with a bow as you applaud.
- As you exit the theatre, remember to walk and stay with your group.
