2023 Summer Enrichment
RISE 2023
TWCA RISE (Recharge In Summer Enrichment) is back for another summer of exciting opportunities for your student! The TWCA staff has created academic, athletic, interest based, and fine arts opportunities during the summer break.
Our specialized offerings are the perfect opportunity for students to recharge, spiritually, intellectually, creatively, physically and socially, with their friends and teachers! Registration is now open!
Please read through the general information for all the details.
GENERAL INFORMATION
All camps are located at The Woodlands Christian Academy unless noted in the camp description. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, however, all courses must meet minimum enrollment established by program instructors. TWCA reserves the right to cancel programs that are under enrolled. In the event of a cancelled program, TWCA will ensure that your child has the opportunity to enroll in another offering or a refund will be issued if requested. If a camp reaches capacity due to multiple families registering at once, TWCA reserves the right to refund or move that student to an open camp of their choosing.
On the first day of each camp session, please park your car and sign your child in at the registration table in front of the Timothy building. Campers may be dropped off no earlier than 8:50 a.m.
Students are responsible for bringing a light snack. Please do not send candy, baked goods, or drinks other than water.
All students participating in RISE opportunities will be held to the standards of TWCA. Foul language, physical altercations, bullying, excessive horseplay, failure to follow teacher instruction, or any aggressive behavior towards students or staff will result in withdrawal without a refund.
Dress code will be specific to each camp. Swimsuits and tank tops are not permitted. Shirts may not be longer than shorts and clothing art/logos must be school appropriate
*Please Note: PreK must be at least age 4 at the time of camp and fully potty trained.
FEE SCHEDULE
A non-refundable, $50 deposit is required for each session purchased and will be applied towards the total camp fee. All fees are due at the time of registration.
A fee will be assessed for children not picked up by 12:10 p.m. Parents will be charged $15 per minute for late pick up.
REFUNDS
If a student is unable to attend camp, a written request must be submitted to rise@twca.net by May 12, 2023 to receive a refund. The $50 deposit is non-refundable. There will be no refunds issued after May 12, 2023.

Summer Sleigh Bells

Who said that Christmas can only come once a year? Join us for a week of wintery activities in the heat of summer! Together we will create a snowball fight, make a winter snowstorm in a jar, decorate cookies, sing Christmas carols, and more! You’ll be feeling the Christmas spirit as we remember the true reason for the season, JESUS!
Art Masters for Little Picassos
Ages: K - 1st

Come learn about the amazing masters of the art world! We’ll learn about the different styles of Picasso, Matisse, Pollack and more, all while creating our own masterpieces. Little hands will dabble in paints, practice sketching techniques, and use tangible items to create treasured pieces.
Lower School Sports ReMix
Ages: K - 4th

This sports sampler platter allows girls and boys to try various sports throughout the week. Campers will learn age appropriate and hands on fundamentals in soccer, basketball, baseball/softball and football/volleyball. With the help of our TWCA coaches, campers will begin to discover and solidify where their athletic passions lie! To beat the summer heat, this camp will also incorporate water fun!
American Girl Travel Adventures
Ages: 1st - 5th

Grab your passport and pack your bags to join us on an American Girl doll adventure! We will travel around the world and back in time to experience different cultures. You and your doll will make snacks and crafts that fit the travel destination for that day. All dolls welcome!

Piano time doesn’t have to end when the bell rings! Pianists will learn new songs on paper and create some of their own! Students will create digital files with Garage Band and earn iPad trophies! Finally, musicians will present their musical masterpieces to classmates using real microphones! Now is your time to shine on the keys!
Green Thumb Gardeners
Ages: 3rd - 8th

From potting to planting seeds in the dirt, campers will spend the week growing herbs, veggies and flowers! Students will create a miniature fairy garden, window sill herb garden, decorate our own pots, and use some not-so-common items in the garden – like a plastic fork! Let’s get muddy and grow fun together!
Science Rocks!
Ages: 3rd - 7th

Come explore fascinating science topics as we conduct challenging experiments, create models, and marvel at this amazing world God has created for us. After customizing your lab coat, we will dive into the science of water, color, luminescence, reactions, and much more!
Game Makers Creation
Ages: 5th - 8th

Gamers Unite! Instead of letting someone else determine your gaming adventure, it's time to create your own. Students will develop a storyline, customize characters, and build their very own game levels. Students will run beta tests on other game creations to help tweak and improve the gaming experience. This session takes gaming to the next level and maybe even a future career!

Is your child a dinosaur enthusiast? They can become a junior paleontologist at Camp Jurassic as we adventure through the pinewood forest to discover dinosaur bones, learn about what dinosaurs eat, conduct scavenger hunts, build volcanoes, and more! Camp Jurassic will be a fun, hands-on experience that your child won’t want to miss!
Destination: Imagination

Travel to magical destinations through the world of books! Discover a love for reading with character activities, scenery creation, and plot twists that will make your head spin. Avid readers and struggling readers are welcome! By the end of this session, you might just have an author, illustrator, or editor ready to take their love for reading to the next level.

Learn how to use all-natural ingredients to make organic body care products in this DIY-inspired session! It's equal parts fun, creative and educational, while introducing life-long skills that encourage healthy living using the natural and organic ingredients in nature gifted to us by God. Students will leave each day with a hand-crafted, ready to use product. Projects include melt and pour soap bars, bath bombs, body butter and lip gloss/lip balm. The camp fee includes a personal DIY Body Care Kit complete with an apron, gloves and safety goggles.
Steam tech revolution
Ages: 3rd - 5th

This STEAM session allows students to invent, build, code, and create! Students will explore and discover using a variety of tech tools while creating with 3D pens, building electric circuits, mastering coding, and will even program Sphero robots. This session is not for the faint of heart as our skills and knowledge will be pushed to the limits!
Musical Theatre
Ages: 3rd - 5th

Musical Theatre will give students the opportunity to learn universal performance skills while building confidence. Participants will also prepare for a showcase performance at the end of the week. Campers will develop skills in acting, movement, voice, character development, and production to expand and improve performance abilities of aspiring young stars.
Warriors Serve

What does it mean to be a servant leader? In Warriors Serve, we will learn about needs in our community and what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We will make blankets for the local animal shelter, make breakfast bags for Montgomery Meals on Wheels, work at the Interfaith community gardens, and more! Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to serve the Lord while having fun with friends!

Campers will tap into their creative side by developing exciting videos and animations. Campers will learn how to storyboard, shoot, and edit videos while also incorporating animation tricks that will take their videos to the next level.
HOSA Certified Phlebotomy Technician
Ages: TWCA HOSA 1 Graduates
Cost: $850/week OR $1600 for two weeks

This course results in a board certification from Medical Careers of America as a Certified Clinical and Administrative Medical Assistant. Certifications are earned through Medical Certifications of America, a nationally recognized leader in certified healthcare fields and medical testing. As part of your certification, MedCA offers resume services, resume posting, and career start-up guides. This steeply discounted training is exclusively for TWCA graduates, and includes quality training with 1 instructor to 12 student ratio, 1 student to 2 medical model ratio, condensed and accelerated (rapid) training due to credit for skills earned in HOSA 1, exam review training, ability to work in college as a certified medical professional, and the cost of your board exam ($129 value) plus your certificate bound in a portfolio ($79 value).

God's Royal Princess

Hear ye, hear ye! Calling her highnesses to a week of royal fun! Dress ups, tea parties, princess crafts and more! Learn about God’s royal family and the characteristics of a princess. At the end of the week, by request of the King, parents will be cordially invited to attend the coronation of her royal highness!
Boys of Summer

From superheroes to water games, this session is all about the magic of boyhood. Each day will peak new interests and allow for hands on exploration with car races, superhero play, animal habitat creation, water wars, and embracing nature with forest hikes and bug collecting. Your little guy will explore new passions and further develop hobbies and interests with various athletic games and LEGO building. With all of our boy fun, we will mold kingdom Warriors throughout the week!

American Girl Camp

Drone Wars

Students will compete in drone war challenges and earn their pilot's license to fly safely in various environments.This hands on session will include techniques and skills that will lead to drone excellence. Improv Stage

Students will perform and participate in live theatre to create characters and a plot on the spot, through fun and exciting improv games. Students will perform in an improv show where they will compete in an improv sports match. This session is for new friends to the stage or seasoned performers. Nifty Numbers

Numbers are Nifty is a math remix! Our week will include themed days like Money Monday and Tangram Tuesday. Nifty Numbers involves movement while exploring the impact of math in all subject areas. This session is for all skill levels.

Come sing, dance, and act with our Summer Stock crew. Students will learn the fundamentals of acting, singing, and dancing while rehearsing for an amazing summer showcase production that will be performed on the last day of camp (July 21st). Come join us for some summer fun, full of drama! *This is a 2 week session. The first week of Summer Stock Camp (7/10 - 7/14) will be held from 9a - 12p. The second week (7/17 - 7/21) will be held from 9a - 2p).
LEGO Challenge

Calling all builders! Students will use individual and team problem solving skills to successfully complete daily LEGO Robot challenges. Spike Prime robots will be used to implement engineering skills as students design specific robots to complete challenges.

Pen to Paper

Drafting, editing, and becoming published authors is what this session is all about. Discover your passion for dinosaurs, unicorns, magical adventures, or ninja battles all through the world of writing. The writing topic is your child’s choice and so are their stories. Handwriting will be practiced, sentences will be perfected, and stories will be created! Side Note: All famous authors need breaks with water balloons and shenanigans!
Refresh and Review

2023 Warrior Strength & Conditioning Camp
Jr. High – Learn to Train - Developmental
Rising 5th-8th Graders
Times: 8:00 am – 9:15 am (75 mins)
Price: $200.00 per Athlete
Middle School athletes will learn fundamental elements of running form and technical aspects of jumping and change of direction in a hands-on learning environment. The athletes will also learn the basic movement patterns involved in strength training while growing the capacity to take on more training: Ex. Pressing, pulling, lunging, squatting with proper technique under progressing loads only once athlete can model movement proficiency.
High School – Train To Compete – Athletic Performance Focused
Rising 9th – 12th Graders
Times: 9:30 am – 11:00 am (90 mins)
Price: $250.00 Per Athlete
High School athletes will learn and practice essential elements such as running, jumping, and sprinting mechanics, while also practicing change of direction fundamentals in a competitive environment. Athletes will learn and perform strength training elements throughout the summer to ensure the development of the total athlete.
