Pre-K at The Woodlands Christian Academy

Harnessing Their Natural Curiosity Through Authentic Learning Experiences

As a parent of a preschooler, you have high hopes for your child as they begin their school journey. You’re looking for a Christian Pre-K program where they will not only become prepared for kindergarten, but also make sweet friends, strengthen their skills, and feel excited about school each day. Finding a warm, safe environment with exceptional teachers is essential for starting their journey on the right foot.

A private pre-kindergarten in The Woodlands, TX, TWCA has designed a program that honors our youngest learners’ natural curiosity and instills a passion for lifelong discovery.

Below, you’ll find a brief overview of what we offer, including:

Exploring, Playing, and Growing, Together

The vibrant, collaborative learning environment at TWCA

At TWCA, we partner with parents to nurture the whole child, creating a supportive learning environment that fosters both social-emotional development and academic readiness. As students learn to solve problems, take turns, show kindness, and embrace new responsibilities, they also begin to explore their identity in Christ, with teachers connecting each experience to the fruits of the Spirit.

Inside our preschool classrooms, you will find:

  • Small class sizes: We want our students to feel known, loved, and heard. Our student-to-teacher ratio is 6:1.
  • Exceptional teachers: All TWCA Pre-K teachers hold bachelor’s degrees and are passionate about early childhood education.
  • Learning stations: Engaging enrichment activities foster fine and gross motor skills as students explore their unique interests.
  • Limited technology: While TWCA is an Apple Distinguished School, we use technology sparingly and purposefully at the Pre-K level.

"TWCA has been a place where my kids have not only been challenged academically, but a place where they are part of a community. It makes such a difference when a teacher knows your child’s name and cares about their development in all aspects of their lives."

Thematic Units Deepen Understanding

The preschool teachers at TWCA utilize thematic units that bring learning to life. By exploring a variety of engaging topics — such as the five senses, the changing seasons, or the roles of community helpers — your child will experience a cohesive and connected approach to learning. Each theme is woven across subjects, from literacy and math to science and art. Hands-on activities help students build foundational skills as students create a well-rounded understanding of the world around them.

Meaningful Experiences Drive Learning

Pre-K is all about building confidence for the elementary years and showing young learners how God can use their skills for His glory. For example, from August to November, students make weekly crafts that are then sold at a holiday market, with all proceeds benefiting World Vision. Students are so proud to see their work on display and have the opportunity to learn about the countries and families benefiting from their cause.

Safety & Security Provide Peace of Mind

From our thoughtfully designed classrooms to our low student-to-teacher ratios, safety is at the forefront of our Pre-K program. Students learn in a highly secure environment and even enjoy their own playground (shared with kindergartners) that is developmentally appropriate and features smaller jungle gyms, chalk, sand, and other sensory play opportunities. Parents love knowing that our check-in and check-out process is thorough, and that all staff members are safety trained.

"Pre-K teachers get the unique opportunity to be their student’s first teacher in a formal school setting, and we want them to leave Pre-K eager to learn and excited to come back to school! Teaching is an extremely rewarding career; it has taught me how to be more patient, adaptable, and empathetic as I strive to help each student meet their maximum potential. My favorite Pre-K activity is our 50th day of school celebration. We all come to school dressed in our best 50s attire, decorate the classroom, dance to music, participate in themed learning activities, and have a diner-style lunch in the Grove. It is so much fun!"
