Comprehensive Approach
Starting in 8th grade, students at The Woodlands Christian Academy work closely with academic advisors to map out a personalized graduation plan. During advising sessions, students collaborate with advisors to select academic options that align with their goals. The focus is to build course schedules with the end in mind, ensuring a clear post-graduation direction that allows students to leverage their gifts and talents for leadership beyond high school. This intentional approach prepares students for success and emphasizes the school's commitment to individualized guidance and the development of well-rounded leaders.
SAT/ACT Preparation
The Woodlands Christian Academy ensures that all Warriors, beginning in 8th grade, participate in the PSAT administered by their teachers, on our campus, during the school day. By eleventh grade, students are familiar with the test format and gain insight into their strengths and areas for improvement, providing valuable preparation for the SAT or ACT. To further support their readiness, students have access to PSAT practice sessions and official SAT/ACT exams conducted on campus. This comprehensive approach not only instills confidence in students but also enhances their preparedness for the standardized tests that are crucial for college admissions.
Summer Intensive
Seniors at Woodlands Christian Academy are invited to partake in a two-day summer intensive preparatory session dedicated to college applications. During this session, academic advisors provide:
Direct instruction for essay writingBrainstorming simulationsDrafting guidance Editing feedbackOne-on-one support The purpose of this intensive is to front-load the college application process, ensuring that students commence the school year well-prepared for the upcoming college application season. This proactive approach sets the stage for a successful application journey.
1-on-1 Unlimited Support
At The Woodlands Christian Academy, every student and parent have daily access to academic advisors. As senior year approaches, students engage in personalized sessions with their academic advisors. These meetings encompass drafting and reviewing college application essays, researching colleges, collecting application materials, requesting transcripts, and seeking counsel on the next steps for their future. The unique aspect of TWCA's college process is that it primarily occurs during school hours, allowing parents and students to fully enjoy senior year without the added stress of managing college applications outside of the academic day. We are committed to providing comprehensive guidance to ensure a smooth and enjoyable transition to higher education.
