Pamela Masau

Mrs. Masau graduated from the University of New Orleans in 2003 with a B.S. in Geology.  She also earned a minor in chemistry and took several post-baccalaureate courses in both geology and chemistry. After three semesters teaching in the geology department at UNO, Mrs. Masau became a primary school science teacher. She taught middle school for two years at YES Prep Public School's North Central Campus and is currently in her third year teaching middle and high school at TWCA.  Mrs. Masau has really found her niche at TWCA.  She believes that the complexity of science only further proves God’s detailed planning and creation and loves sharing her passion and energy with her students.  Mrs. Masau is also a CCE teacher at her church during the school year and teaches VBS during the summer. Recently she joined a tutoring company and hopes to help assist other students with their learning struggles throughout the school year. In 2008 Mrs. Masau received a $10,000 grant from BP's A+ for Energy Program for educators.  She used this grant to fund the Geology elective course she offers to juniors and seniors. She is a liaison between TWCA and the Montgomery County Preserve and often takes her students there for outdoor field experiences.  She also co-chairs the private school division of EFTA's annual Sci://Tech Science Fair.

Mrs. Masau is married to Morgan Masau.  Morgan is also a geologist (they met in college) and he works in Houston.  They have a cat named Mali who acts more like a dog and was recently featured in a local cat calendar.  They both enjoy spending quality time with family more than anything else.

Her hobbies include outdoor activities such as hiking and cycling.  She also enjoys reading travel essays and mystery novels.  Her favorite author is Alexander McCall Smith who writes several series of mystery novels that are set in Botswana and Edinburgh. She loves coffee (some would call it an addiction) and shopping and the two together make for a great afternoon! When she has time for TV, her favorite shows are Monk, Psych, House, Friends and Everybody Loves Raymond.

Mrs. Masau’s favorite job before teaching was during a year and a half in college when she worked at a pet store.  She took care of many reptiles, small animals and fish and enjoyed assisting customers.
