The Woodlands Christian Academy

Our History

The hope of a Christian school in The Woodlands began in the hearts of local parents and pastors in 1987.  By January 1993, with less than $500 in the bank, a committee hired a principal, secured a telephone line and printed advertising brochures.  The Woodlands Christian Academy opened in September 1993 with 150 students from preschool through 6th grade.

In 1999, The Woodlands Christian Academy moved to its present 40-acre campus with the construction of the main administrative building and the addition of /files/About Images/IMG_0474.jpgportable classroom buildings.  The high school was also established at that time and the first class of twelve students graduated in 2001.  In 2002, The Woodlands Christian Academy completed construction of its gym, pavilion and athletic facilities, including a state of the art baseball complex and lighted football field with bleachers.

Our first permanent classroom building, the Nehemiah Academic Center opened for our high school during the summer of 2009.

Today, The Woodlands Christian Academy is a non-denominational Christian college preparatory school that serves approximately 400 students from ages preschool through the 12th grade.  It is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
